The Cookie Banner widget allows you to obtain permission from website visitors to store or execute tracking codes and cookies.
For example, Google Analytics could be used if Google anonymized the IP address. An info banner was sufficient to inform the user about cookies.
Cookie Banner in edoobox
With the edoobox cookie banner, no tracking code is displayed in the customer templates (offer overview, details, payment page, etc.) if the customer does not make a selection (Reject/Allow) or rejects cookies.
This means that thesocial widgetcannot be loaded, and Google Tag Manager with e-commerce tracking also does not return a response.
If a customer selects “Allow,” all scripts and cookies are loaded immediately and the cookies and scripts are executed.
The Cookie Banner can be inserted into the "Footer" template within the Design Manager.
The following adjustments can be made within the widget:
-
Should the banner reappear on the next page if rejected by the user, or should edoobox suppress the banner for these users for 24 hours (default: 24-hour block)?
-
Should the banner also be displayed within the iFrame (default: off)? It is assumed that customers already display a banner on their website, thereby granting the provider consent to store cookies. It is crucial that the customer discloses these cookies on their own website.
-
The text is available by default in all active languages but can be customized or extended with links, for example, to your own privacy policy page.
Cookie
When the booking flow is initiated, the following cookies are used within the iFrame:
edsesa = edoobox visitor session / No tracking or analytics
edsess = edoobox participant session after login/booking (depending on configuration)
_gcl_au = Google
_ga = Google
_gid = Google
_dc_gtm_UA-* = Google
