Cookie Banner
The Cookie Banner widget allows you to obtain permission from the site visitor to store or execute tracking codes and cookies.
Google was allowed to use analytics, for example, if the IP address was anonymized by Google. An info banner was sufficient to inform the user about cookies.
Cookie banner in edoobox
With the edoobox cookie banner, tracking code is no longer displayed in the customer templates (offers overview, details, payment page, etc.) if the customer does not make a selection (reject/allow) or rejects the cookies.
This means that the social widget cannot be loaded and the Google Tag Manager with e-commerce tracking does not provide a response either.
If a customer decides to "Allow", all scripts and cookies are loaded directly and the cookies and scripts are executed.
The cookie banner can be inserted in the "Footer" template in the Design Manager.

The following customizations are possible in the widget:
Should the banner reappear on the next page if the user rejects it or should edoobox no longer display a banner to these users for 24 hours (default 24h block).
Should the banner also be displayed in the iFrame (default: off). It can be assumed that customers are already displaying a banner on their website and therefore the customer gives the provider the OK to save cookies; it is important here that they display these on their website.
The text in all active languages is available as standard, but can be customized or extended with links, e.g. to your own data protection page.
Cookie
If the booking flow is started, these cookies are used in iFrame:
edsesa = edoobox session from visitor / no tracking or evaluations
edsess = edoobox session from participant after login/booking (depending on config)
_gcl_au = Google
_ga = Google
_gid = Google
_dc_gtm_UA-* = Google
Cookie | Cookie host | Duration | Type | Purpose |
---|---|---|---|---|
edsesa | app1.edoobox.com | 2h | HTTP | edoobox saves the visitor's session (no tracking or evaluations) |
edsess | app1.edoobox.com | 2h | HTTP | edoobox saves the participant's session when logging in for simple offer registration |
Depending on the social plug-in (Facebook, Google, Twitter, etc.), the specific plug-ins are also loaded.
If the edoobox banner is used, all tracking is prevented.
Note: Consent to the tracking
Without genuine consent, tracking cookies are taboo and website operators are jointly responsible for the Facebook Like button on their website. Every website operator must therefore now ensure that the ruling is implemented correctly. The ECJ has also made it clear that violations can result in a warning.
