Sub-domain and meta function

Meta function (Facebook and Google)

With iOS14, Facebook also had to adapt its privacy policy. Verification of your own domain is now mandatory. Verification has always been required to gain sole authority over the processing of your links and to prevent misuse of your domain. However, Facebook now requires its business users to verify their domain so that business owners have control over choosing their highest priority conversion event.

In the following steps, we explain how you can store and verify the sub-domain. The sub-domain is a sub-domain of a domain, i.e. a part of a domain. We currently only offer the sub-domain for Google and Facebook. Google Search Console is used for domain verification at Google. For Facebook, you use the Facebook Business Manager.

Deposit of the sub-domain on Facebook

  1. Log in to your Facebook Business Manager

  2. Select the sub-item "Domains" in the "Brand Safety" area on the left

  3. Click on the "Add" button and enter your domain name there

To add the edoobox offers, enter the URL (sub-domain) https://KÜRZEL.edoobox.com. Here you will find your account code A:

Deposit of the sub-domain in Google Search Console

You do not need to register specifically for Google Search Console, but you do need a valid Google account.

Verification of the domain

The verification process succeeds with these steps:

  1. You store the sub-domain in the Facebook Business Manager/Google Search Console (as described above)

  2. Fügen Sie in den globalen edoobox Einstellungen, in der Google Tag Manger Box unter META HTML den Meta-Tag von Facebook oder Google hinzu und speichern Sie diesen. Beispiel: <meta name="google-site-verification">

Please note: Setting

  • The sub-domain only works if your edoobox account is set to "Public". You cannot use the sub-domain with "Global Internal".

  • Currently, neither CNAME DNS entries nor domain mapping are possible.
